When you think it’s the end, it’s really just
the beginning
Nathan Allen Spinks died on February 22, 2006 of brain cancer at 3
years old. Everyone that met him said he was the most spiritually unusual child
they had ever witnessed.
There was an obvious strong presence within him. He
could recite the Lord’s prayer before he could even speak clearly. The battle
over his life was fierce as literally millions of prayers were prayed for his
healing from places as far away as China, Germany, Tanzania, and churches all
over the United States and the world. He may be gone from this earth but his
legacy lives on through OSU Tour. This very organization was formed and birthed
because of the relationships that happened because of Nathan’s cancer. Our very
first OSU Tour event was performed because of the exact relationships that were
brought about because of Nathan’s cancer situation. Many believe that OSU Tour
would never have happened if it were not for the severity of his situation
and the extreme suffering Nathan endured. His life proves, like many heroes in
our military, that sometimes people have to die so that others may live. His
father, Jonathan Spinks is writing a book (soon to be released) regarding the
entire journey and addressing the question; What do you do when life doesn’t
turn out the way you expect it to? You can be sure that God’s plans are nothing
like our plans. Jonathan fully expected his first born son, Nathan, to stand on stage
with him during every show, for the rest of his life. Nathan has already changed the
lives of thousands, and today, seeks to change our world as we know it through OSU Tour. He will forever be known as “Nathan, whom God has healed.”

Jonathan Spinks, OSU Tour
President / CEO
Jonathan Spinks is an over-achiever and sits in a unique
position as a former professional athlete and a successful Dallas business
owner. His success comes as no surprise to those who know him well. As a
successful Dallas businessman, he made going the extra mile a standard,
reliability his promise, and integrity his trademark.
As a successful businessman who has experienced the pains it takes to
get there, he possesses a profound knowledge and passion regarding
conservative principles that can set people apart in the business world
and in their communities. After retiring as a professional athlete, he
went back to school to become a financial planner specializing in
investments. While working at the investment firm representing Smith
Barney for 8 years, his company branched out into the mortgage industry.
He then transitioned into the mortgage industry and worked in the
mortgage industry 8 years, the last 3 years of which he eventually
started, and fully owned, a Mortgage Bank Branch and operated as its
Bank Branch President.
Jonathan
understands the importance of high-energy hard work, integrity,
character building, and the value of a good team behind you. While
fighting on a world-class level, Jonathan beat the odds against all that
challenged him and became a champion in boxing, kickboxing, and tough
man contests. Jonathan began his boxing career as an amateur at age 13.
He trained as an Olympic boxing team hopeful before turning pro. As a
professional fighter, he acquired a kickboxing title by knocking out the
7th ranked contender in the world. During his eight years as a
professional fighter, he remained undefeated in over 20 fights before
retirement. He achieved notoriety as "The Knock Out" artist by sending
every single opponent he faced during his career to the mat.
For the past 18 years, Jonathan has traveled all over the country, in
constant demand as a motivational speaker. His schedule already includes
events throughout 2009 in New York, Arizona, Chicago, Florida, Ohio,
Georgia, Colorado, California, Puerto Rico, Texas and more. His schedule
is fully loaded year after year with speaking engagements in places
ranging from corporate events, schools, churches, prisons, universities,
NFL (National Football League) to the Pentagon. Jonathan speaks as many
as 45 weekends a year. Aside from being a nationally known speaker and,
in spite of a grueling schedule, he strives to spend quality time with
his wife of 8 years and his 3 children Jeffery, Gabriel and Abigail.
Jonathan is also very active in his community and seeks to deliver
excellence in every area of his life, mentally, physically, emotionally,
spiritually. His uniqueness appeals to a very wide range of audiences.
As a former professional athlete, he shares captivating stories of an
unbelievable commitment, dedication, and deep understanding of what it
takes to reach the top “in life” as well as the bottom that brings
results of anger, addictions, divorce, and death. This deep
understanding has been the result of lessons learned through failures
that arise from a life out of balance as well as the consequences that
come from wrong choices, bad friends, and a love for money. He learned
at the age of 19 that all his possessions of Cadillacs, Mercedes, houses
with swimming pools, cigarette boats, expensive motorcycles,
accomplishments, fame and fortune could not deliver what he was seeking.
Today Jonathan is the Executive Director of OSU Tour. OSU Tour is a
non-profit 501(c) 3 organization with links to the Pentagon that strives
to ease the pain of divorce, suicide, domestic violence and Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder within our troops coming back from the War in
Iraq.
